Home based childcare is a fabulous alternative for caring for young children. QHC Dunedin is a locally owned and operated home based childcare service and is dedicated to providing quality care for children in a home environment.

QHC is about providing quality care and educational opportunities for our children. QHC understands the needs of our working and studying parents and their requirements for quality care and education for their children.

QHC is a Ministry of Education licensed service, offering quality care for children from birth through to five years of age.

QHC provides families with an exceptional alternative to centre-based care. Educators are contracted to care for children in their own home, providing safe, stimulating and quality care for children. Children’s needs, individual talents and interests are recognised and responded to in a way that fosters holistic learning and development. Everyday there are opportunities for one-to-one and small group opportunities for learning and play.

Educators and children have the support and guidance of experienced and trained early childhood teachers through visits to the educator’s home and regular phone contact.

Te Whãriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, is used to enhance and guide our children’s learning opportunities.

QHC encourage our educators and children to attend regular play groups, music groups and outings within the local community, to enhance and support social interaction and development for all children.

QHC offers 20 hours ECE care for 3 and 4 year olds; up to a maximum of 6 hours per day, 20 hours per week, with no extra charges.

WINZ childcare subsidy rates are available. For more information regarding subsidies please contact our office, click on the parent’s page to see the WINZ childcare subsidy table, or alternatively contact WINZ directly.
